UAA trains 30 small scale horticulture farmers in production to GlobalG.A.P standards.
As part of our efforts to support farmers and horticulture exporters to reach high value international markets that earn a higher revenue, from 13th-17th January 2025, UAA conducted a 5-day intensive Training of Trainers on GlobalG.A.P standards for 30 leaders of small scale horticulture farmer groups and directors of 3 horticulture export companies (Fansha Agro Fruits and Vegetables, Rocki Fruits & Vegetables, and Jona Exotics Uganda Ltd). GlobalG.A.P standards are an outline of a range of strategies and techniques for safe and responsible production processes in agriculture that are aimed at meeting the global demand for food and other farmed products while managing the negative impact on the ecosystems and communities in which farms operate. These standards act as a safeguard for food safety, workers’ health & safety, animal welfare & Environment protection.
