UAA to boost Horticulture production in West Nile region, Uganda
UAA to support farmers in WestNile region to boost Horticulture Production for both Regional and International markets.
As UAA, we are intentional about empowering small scale farmers to adopt business practices that enable them to earn higher revenue and sustainable income. With funding from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Fair For All Power of Voices Partnerships (PVP) Project, the targeted farmers from the WestNile Districts of Arua, Nebbi and Zombo will be supported to adopt Good Agricultural Practices that will enable them produce better quality horticulture products that can meet the market standards of both regional and international markets.
The program kick-started with 4 sensitization meetings conducted from 19th- 22nd Sept 2023 at 4 coffee Micro Stations- Gonyubendu Microstation in Nebbi District, Ayanyunga and Pakia Azii Micro Stations in Zombo District and Okavu Microstation in Arua district. The sensitization meetings were aimed at giving the farmers a deep insight into the program and to foster discussions around the key challenges likely to be faced by the farmers in horticulture production.
