UAA begins incubation of a new Multi-Stakeholder Platform for the Onion and Garlic value chains

On 11th/Oct/2023, with Support from Small Foundation, UAA began incubation of a new Multi-Stakeholder Platform for the Onion and Garlic Value Chains. The launch was attended by various stakeholders along the onion and Garlic value chains, which included; growers, processors, extension workers, input providers, CSOs and Government (Ministry of Agriculture Directorate of Crop Inspection and Certification). The multi-stakeholder platform is aimed at facilitating the development of inclusive, and viable onion and garlic value chains. This marks the fifth value chain multi-stakeholder platform being created by UAA, following our previous work with avocado and potato platforms, and currently the Uganda Horticulture Multi-stakeholder Platform and the National Beef Platform.  Using commodity value chain platforms, we build collaborations by combining resources and capabilities of the different stakeholders to support the development of viable, competitive and sustainable growth in value chains.
